Looking For A Liter For The 2023 SEA Games
JAKARTA - The 2023 SEA Games are only two months away. Southeast Asia's largest multi-sport event will be held in Cambodia on May 5-17, 2023.
A number of athletes have been prepared in various sports. However, they still hope to be anxious.
The reason is, there has been no decision from the Sports Development Commission (KSD) review Team of the Indonesian Olympic Committee (KOI) led by Calvin Legawa. Currently, the team is still analyzing which sports to send.
"Starting from the athlete's achievement data and the contingent's medal target and determining the number or size team of the Indonesian Team for all sports that will be included in the 2023 SEA Games," said Taslim, in a written statement quoted from Antara.
Furthermore, Peter said the recommendations that would officially be issued by NOC Indonesia would then be submitted to the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora). This is intended so that the Ministry of Youth and Sports can immediately approve the establishment of the Indonesian Team contingent at the 2023 SEA Games in Cambodia.
According to the recommendation from the Ministry of Youth and Sports, sports administrators are asked to include their outstanding junior athletes at the 2023 SEA Games to increase flight hours and the regeneration of athletes in each sport.
"Of the number of sports teams participating in the 2023 SEA Games, all of them have followed the recommendations from the Ministry of Youth and Sports, which includes 60 percent of young athletes and 40 percent of senior athletes who are still outstanding. Hopefully, the regeneration of young athletes can prove good achievements," explained Peter.
Meanwhile, Chef de Mission (CdM) of the 2023 SEA Games Contingent Lexyndo Hakim also paid attention to discussions from the Review Team with sports. He said the review results were expected to be completed on February 28.
The Cambodia 32nd SEA Games Organizing Committee (Camsoc) has also given a deadline for entry by name on March 5, 2023.
"So regarding what sport to go and who the athletes will depart are still waiting for the recommendations from the Review Team," said Lexyndo.
"One of the things we in the CdM Team do is help the administration and ensure the needs of athletes are met while in Cambodia, so athletes only focus on competing," he continued.
