Lost When Celebrating, West Sumba Residents Of NTT Are Found DEAD
KUPANG - A resident of Karaha Maroga village, Wetana Village, West Laboya District, West Sumba Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province, Paulus Pote Woda (51), who was reported missing while going fishing in Mambang waters was found dead.
Victim Paulus Pote Woda was found dead by local residents on the banks of Mambang, West Sumba Regency, Sunday, February 26.
Head of the Kupang Class A Search and Rescue Office I Putu Sudayana said the SAR team from the Waingapu SAR Post, East Sumba Regency did not have time to go to the scene to carry out SAR operations because the victim Paulus Pote Woda, who was reported missing on Saturday, had been found by residents.
"We received a report from the potential for SAR in West Sumba that local residents had found the victim so that the SAR team did not go to West Sumba Regency to carry out SAR operations," said I Putu Sudayan, quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, February 26.
Paulus Pote Woda (51) was originally reported missing by his family to the West Laboya Police Post in West Sumba Regency that the victim had been missing since going to look for fish on Mammbang beach.
The families of the victims consisted of Doilo Kole (25) and Wino Hoga (30) who had searched for the victim on Mammbang Beach but were not found, the two witnesses only found the victim's motorbike which was parked on the banks of Mambang, so the victim's family reported the incident to the Wetana Village Government.
Residents together with the Wetana Village Government took the initiative to search for victims using ketinting boats along Mammbang Beach but until the afternoon the victim was fruitless.
Furthermore, the search operation by local residents was carried out on Sunday morning and managed to find victim Paulus Pote Woda (51) lying on the beach of Mammbang with a dead condition.
