Badung Bali Regency Government Ensures That Basic Materials Are Safe When Nyepi And Fasting
MANGAPURA - The Badung Regency Government (Pemkab), Bali ensures the availability of staples such as rice, cooking oil and sugar enough for the next six months before Nyepi Day, fasting month and Eid al-Fitr.
"From the results of monitoring in Bulog, it turns out that the rice stock is quite large. Likewise, there are quite a lot of oil and land fires," said Head of the Economy Section of the Badung Regional Secretariat AA Sagung Rosyawati in a statement received quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, February 26.
From the results of field monitoring a few days ago, continued Rosyawati, it is known that rice stocks in Bulog reached 1,000 tons and Kumita in a number of distributors also reached 1,000 tons.
"And because the pattern of distribution from Bulog's D1, if it runs out, then please return it. So there is no problem with the stock, Rice and Oil. This is enough for the next 5-6 months. Likewise, Sugar stocks," said Rosyawati.
According to Rosyawati, monitoring the availability of basic materials is routinely carried out, especially ahead of religious holidays.
In addition, checks were also carried out to follow up on a number of complaints from the public regarding the scarcity of Oil and the increase in rice prices since last January.
In addition to monitoring the two commodities, following up on the results of the Ministry of Home Affairs' coordination meeting, his party also supervised the price of sugar, which may have increased.
"From the Coordination Meeting of the Ministry of Home Affairs, we are asked to pay attention to the possibility of an increase in sugar prices. So these three commodities are our focus," he said.
Although the rice stock is sufficient for the next few months, continued Rosyawati, another thing that needs to be considered is the availability of rice for the Supply Stabilization and Food Price (SHPH) program or cheap rice.
Currently, Badung Regency has not been maximally distributed, so coordination has been carried out with the Badung Regency Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises and Trade Offices to carry out market operations in order to maintain price stability in the market.
"This includes the distribution of oil and land fires, so that prices in the market remain stable. We have coordinated with the Office of Cooperatives, SMEs and Trade, to carry out market operations. The reason is, currently on the market, the availability of oil and land fires in the market is indeed there, but the price is still above the Highest Retail Price (HET)," he explained.
In the future, his party urges the public to always be wise in shopping and not to panic buying when they hear that there are rare staples while still buying according to their needs.
"When it occurs, for example, the availability is disrupted, and prices are unstable, the government will certainly step in to help, don't panic," concluded Rosyawati.
