Sri Mulyani Calls Haram Tax Employees Moge-Driving, Even If Purchased Using Halal Money

"Requesting that the Blasting club Rijder DGT be dissolved. The hobby and lifestyle of driving motorbikes raises public negative perceptions and raises suspicions about the sources of wealth of DGT employees," he said on Sunday evening, February 26.

Sri Mulyani explained that this decision was a quick response to the rampant news in various print and online photos that stated that the Director General of Taxes Suryo Utomo rode a big motorbike with several other people.

"Even if the Moge is obtained and purchased with halal money and official salary, driving and showing off motorbikes for officials or tax employees and the Ministry of Finance has violated the principles of propriety and public appropriateness," he stressed.

The state treasurer revealed that this order had been conveyed directly to the Director General of Taxes Suryo Utomo as a form of instruction from the leadership to subordinates.

"This (pamer moge) injures public trust," closed the Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani
