Foreign Citizens Become Victims Of Theft In The Mandalika Region
The Satreskrim of the Mandalika Regional Police, Central Lombok Police, West Nusa Tenggara, arrested a suspected perpetrator who specializes in the theft of foreign national motorcycles (WNA) in the local area.
"The perpetrators have the initials SJ alias Suk (22) and the initials N alias Idi (30) who are residents of Kuta Village, Pujut District," said Central Lombok Police Chief AKBP Irfan Nurmansyah, quoted from Antara, Sunday, February 26.
The arrest of the alleged perpetrator was based on Police Report Number: LP / 09 / II / 2023 / NTB / Res Loteng / Sek. Mandalika area, February 18th. Where the victim is a male foreign national on behalf of James John Meledandri, the interim address of DHM Hotel Kuta Village.
The chronology of the theft occurred when the victim parked his motorbike near a building (Balawista) on Kuta beach and the victim and her friend Nella took to the beach for a walk.
Then when the victim returned to the parking lot of his motorbike, but did not find the vehicle. So he tried to find the motorbike around the parking lot, but was not found or missing.
"For this incident, the victim suffered a loss of around Rp. 16 million and reported it to the Mandalika Regional Police," he said.
After receiving a report from the victim, members of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Mandalika Regional Police together with the Central Lombok Police Resmob Team conducted an investigation and succeeded in identifying one of the alleged perpetrators, the initials N alias Idi.
Furthermore, members received information on the whereabouts of the alleged perpetrator N who was hiding at his father-in-law's house in the Gerantung Village area, Praya Tengah District, Central Lombok Regency.
"Members came to the location and immediately arrested the alleged perpetrator without a fight," he said.
From the results of the initial interrogation of N alias Idi, he admitted that he had committed the theft along with the alleged perpetrator with the initials SJ alias Suk.
Furthermore, members carried out developments by visiting the house of the alleged perpetrator SJ alias Suk in Kuta Village and immediately arresting the alleged perpetrator.
The two suspected perpetrators also admitted that they had stolen a motorcycle with a target of visitors to tourist attractions at different crime scenes in the jurisdiction of the Central Lombok Police.
"The two suspected perpetrators and evidence have been secured at the Mandalika Regional Police for further legal proceedings," he added.
