Vice President Of Kasih Tips Strengthening Transparency And Accountability Of Managers So That Zakat Can Increase

JAKARTA - Vice President Maruf Amin asked zakat managers to improve the quality of governance in order to increase their contribution to poverty alleviation in the country.

"In the future, I hope that the Zakat House will continue to have a wider and significant impact, as well as improve the quality of governance," said the Vice President in an online direction at the Public Expose for Zakat Houses in 2023 and the Launch of the #BergerakNyata Movement in Jakarta, Friday, February 24, as reported by Antara.

Judging from the press release received, the Vice President conveyed concretely, there are three strategic steps that can be taken to improve the quality of governance and expand the reach of beneficiaries.

"First, improve zakat management which is transparent and according to standards," said the Vice President.

The Vice President assessed that transparency can increase the accountability of zakat management institutions while at the same time increasing the trust of zakat givers to entrust their zakat management.

"Second, develop a productive zakat program. Map and synergize the Rumah Zakat program with government programs, especially eradicating extreme poverty and reducing stunting rates," the Vice President appealed.

With this synergy, he added, zakat management institutions can target areas that are included in the government's priority, so that zakat distribution can be distributed optimally.

"Third, support the implementation of the National Zakat Management Transformation Program, such as the integration of zakat reporting based on the BAZNAS Information System. In addition, it is necessary to strengthen zakat support for Halal MSMEs," said the Vice President.

Closing his remarks, the Vice President hoped that the forum could become an effective literacy tool for zakat management institutions, and be able to encourage existing institutions to become more professional in the future.

"Hopefully this forum will be able to become an effective socialization and literacy media, as well as encourage all zakat management institutions to transform and become more professional," hoped the Vice President.

The CEO of Zakat House, Irvan Nugraha, said that the Zakat House continues to strengthen organizational governance, both mandatory and voluntary.

Irvan hopes that in the future the Zakat House can continue to spread good benefits for people throughout Indonesia.

"We hope that in 2023 we can realize efforts to bring 1.5 million beneficiaries who get happiness and also transform 20 percent mustahik (zakat recipients) out of the poverty line," Irvan hoped.

In addition to the CEO of Rumah Zakat, the event included the Head of the National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN) Hasto Wardoyo, the Chairman of the Sharia Supervisory Board of the Zakat House Siti Ma'rifah Ma'ruf Amin, and the Expert Council of Zakat Houses.

Meanwhile, the Vice President was accompanied by the Head of the Vice Presidential Secretariat Ahmad Erani Yustika, Deputy for Economic Policy Support and Competitiveness Improvement Iman Nefianto, the Vice President's Special Staff for Communication and Information Masduki Baidlowi, and the Vice President's Expert Team Farhat Brachma and Iggi Haruman Achsien.
