JAKARTA - As many as 14 suspects in corruption cases detained at the KPK have tested positive for COVID-19. This is known from the results of the swab test conducted by the detainees on Thursday, January 7 yesterday.
"Based on the information we received, from the results of the PCR swab carried out on January 7 against the detainees at the KPK's Red and White Prison, there were 14 detainees with positive results," said Acting KPK spokesman for prosecution Ali Fikri, Friday, January 8. .
The KPK has taken further steps to prevent the spread of the virus in detention centers. Including conducting contact tracing that begins with conducting rapid tests or antigen-based rapid tests on prison guard officers and prison officers.
"Including detainees at the KPK branch detention center in Building C1 and Pomdam Jaya Guntur also carried out a rapid antigen test and the results were negative," he said.
Regarding the positive detainees, currently 14 people have been transferred to the Wisma Atlet COVID-19 Emergency Hospital to undergo independent treatment and isolation today. Even though they are outside the detention center, dozens of criminals are under surveillance by officers and carried out according to standard health protocols.
