YOGYAKARTA - The Indonesian Air Force deployed special forces from the 462 Pasgat Command Battalion (Kopasgat) to rescue Jambi Police Chief Inspector General Rusdi Hartono, Monday (20/2/2023). Quoted from the legal website of the Indonesian Air Force, this Special Force of the Indonesian Air Force was originally named the Tjepat Movement Troop Command (Kopasgat) which was determined on October 17, 1947.

This Kopasgat began when the Governor of Kalimantan, Prince Muhammad Noor, asked the AURI to send umbrella troops to Kalimantan to organize and form insurgents, helping the sacrifice of the people in Kalimantan.

At the initiative ofodor (U) Soerjadi Soerjadarma, 12 sons from Kalimantan and 2 PHB AURI were selected to carry out the deployment. On October 17, 1947, 13 people were successfully deployed in Sambi, West Kotawaringin, Central Kalimantan.

They are Hadi Soemantri Day (AURI radio journalist from Semarang), FM Soejoto (AURI radio judge from Ponorogo), Iskandar (leader of troops), Ahmad Kosasih, Bachri, J Bitak, C chancem, Imanuel Nuhan, Amirudin, Ali Akbar, M Dahlan, JH Darius, and Marawi.

They were deployed from the C-47 Dakota RI-002 aircraft flown by Bob Freeberg of American nationality as the owner of the plane. This is the first cross-air operation in Indonesian history. The moment the 13 AURI soldiers carried out was a moment that marked the birth of Kopasgat.

Pasgat itself is a three-dimensional land combat unit, namely air, sea, land. Every Pasgat soldier should at least have parakomando (Parako) qualifications to be able to carry out his duties professionally, then add a special ability for airworthiness to suit his specialties.
