KKP Minister Trenggono Likes The Tagline Sandiaga Uno 'Proud Of Indonesian Tourism'

JAKARTA - Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Sakti Wahyu Trenggono said he was ready to collaborate with the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, led by Sandiaga Uno, in an effort to revive Indonesian tourism.

"I am pleased with the tagline, Mr. Minister of Tourism, Proud of Indonesian Tourism. We have the potential, especially the marine tourism sector," said Minister Trenggono quoted from Antara, Thursday, January 7.

Minister Trenggono explained, from the results of the survey by the KKP team in the field, there were actually many marine tourism spots that had not been explored even though they had their own uniqueness that had the potential to attract the attention of local and foreign tourists.

In addition to the uniqueness and beauty under the sea, Trenggono continued, there are also coastal areas and mangrove forests that have similar potential.

"One of them is the Savu underwater national park, the marine tourism park on the islands of Gili Air, Gili Meno, Gili Trawangan, and so on to the Banda Sea," he said.

In addition, he said, another interesting thing is the potential for whale tourism. Then, he continued, there are also underwater tours in Labuan Jambu (Sumbawa), Gorontalo, and Probolinggo.

However, the use of marine and coastal areas as marine tourism destinations must be accompanied by strict regulations and supervision so that the ecosystem and environmental sustainability are maintained.

"Which of these potentials is the best, I think the Minister of Tourism can decide. So we are ready to work together and support in these areas, so that we can protect them, we are regulating that the area should not be carried out other activities than for tourism purposes. , "He said.

Meanwhile, Sandiaga Uno welcomed the support from the KKP for the revival of Indonesia's tourism sector.

In addition, the Menparekraf also proposed that the vessels confiscated from illegal fishing eradication operations could support the movement of Indonesian marine tourism.
