3 Indonesian Air Force Aviators Also Introduced In The Delivery Of Super Hercules C-130J First Units From The US

JAKARTA - Air Force Chief of Staff (KSAU) Marshal TNI Fadjar Prasetyo said three pilots from the unit participated in the flight of the first unit of the C-130J Super Hercules aircraft which was scheduled to be delivered later this month."Three Indonesian Air Force pilots will take part in the first flight from the United States to Indonesia," Fadjar said in a statement received in Jakarta, Antara, Wednesday, February 22.The first unit of the five aircraft ordered by the Indonesian Air Force will be flown from the Lockheed Martin factory facility in Georgia, USA, on February 28, 2023 and is scheduled to land in Indonesia on March 6, 2023."God willing, the plane will arrive in Indonesia on March 6, 2023, which was flown by pilots from Lockheed Martin," said Fadjar after the first symbolic procession of the C-130J Super Hercules aircraft at the Lockheed Martin factory, Marietta, Georgia, Monday (21/2) local time.KSAU added that the next three TNI AU C-130J Super Hercules aircraft are scheduled to arrive in stages throughout this year, namely in June, July, and October, before the final units arrive in January 2024.Upon arrival in Indonesia, the first unit of the Indonesian Air Force C-130J Super Hercules aircraft will be stationed at the Squadron 31 of the Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base (Lanud), Jakarta.Previously, the Head of the Indonesian Air Force Information Service (Kadispenau) Marsma TNI Indan Gilang Buldansyah stated that the five units of the C-130J Super Hercules aircraft would strengthen the ranks of the Indonesian Air Force's Hercules aircraft, which apart from being in Squadron 31 Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base, were also located at Squadron 32 Abdul Rachman Saleh Malang Air Base, and Squadron 33 Sultan Hasanuddin Air Base Makassar."I think the arrival of these five type J Hercules aircraft will meet our needs for heavy transportation, yes, personnel and cargo transportation needed by us," said Indan in Jakarta, Tuesday (21/2).The symbolic handover procession for the first shipment of the C-130J Super Hercules aircraft ordered by the Indonesian Air Force to Kasau was carried out directly by the Vice President and General Manager of the Lockheed Martin Maritime Mobility & Mission Business, Roderick McLean, witnessed by the Indonesian Ambassador to the US Rosan Roeslani and Secretary General of the Ministry of Defense Marsdya TNI Donny Ermawan.
