LUBUKBASUNG - The Regency Government (Pemkab) of Agam West Sumatra (West Sumatra) will issue a policy that every school principal must have a minimum education strata 2 (S2). This is to improve the competence of each school principal
Agam Regent Andri Warman said the principal in Agam Regency, West Sumatra was required to take master's degree to improve the quality of education in the local area.
He said, the obligation of master's degree of education will be stated in the Regent's Regulation (Perbup).
"We will make a Perbup to require master's degree of education as well as make a statement that we are willing to continue their education," said Andri Warman as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, February 21.
He said that if they had master's degree, of course their competence in improving the quality of education would also be better, considering that education is the main thing, especially when school principals are an example in an educational environment that is led. "They have been given the opportunity to become school principals, they just don't want to continue their education," he said. He admitted that he had collaborated with various universities in West Sumatra and other provinces. For that, he was asked all school principals to take advantage of this collaboration by increasing their education. "Utilizing such cooperation to continue higher education," he said.
