Update On COVID-19 As Of January 7: Another Record, New Cases Translated To 9,321
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 68,019 specimens were examined with the results of 9,321 new positive cases of COVID-19.
The addition of new positive cases of COVID-19 has set a record for new positive cases. Previously, the highest new cases per day occurred yesterday, namely January 6 with 8,854 cases.
"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia reached 797,723 people," he was quoted as saying from data from the Ministry of Health, Thursday, January 7.
Today's cases increased by 6,924 so that a total of 659,437 people recovered. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 224 people and a total of 23,520 people.
The province with the most new cases was in DKI Jakarta with 2,398 new cases and a total of 197,699 cases. DKI is the province with the most cases in Indonesia.
Followed by West Java which has 1,416 new cases with a total of 92,547 cases. Central Java has 998 new cases and a total of 88,566 cases. Then, East Java has 948 new cases and a total of 89,590 cases.
The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an increase of 1,441 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an increase of 1,208 recovered cases, East Java with an increase of 857 recovered cases, and Central Java with an increase of 856 recovered cases.
Then, not a single province reported having no new cases today. The province with the fewest cases was Maluku with 1 case.
In addition, the number of specimens examined reached 7,713,307. In detail, as many as 7,583,577 specimens were examined using real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and 129,730 using molecular rapid tests (TCM).
Finally, the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 68,753 people. Currently, 510 districts / cities from 34 provinces have cases of COVID-19.
