There Are 2 Cases Of Suspect Of Accounting For Acute Kidneys In Cirebon And Ambon, Minister Of Health: Being Checked
JAKARTA - Minister of Health (Menkes) Budi Gunadi Sadikin revealed that currently, the findings of two suspected acute progressive kidney failure suspects (GGAPA) have emerged. Each case is in Cirebon, West Java and Ambon, Maluku."There have been identified in Cirebon and in Ambon, but it has just been identified (acute kidney failure) because it has not been confirmed. Now it is being checked whether it is kidney failure or not," Budi told reporters, Monday, February 20.Currently, the two patients suspected of being GGAPA are being treated at Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM) as a referral hospital for the GGAPA case. Based on information from the hospital, the two patients led to an ordinary infection and not GGAPA even though they showed similar symptoms.Because, in handling it, the two patients were only given anti-infection drugs and had not yet received the intake of the drug pharmacizole as a GGAPA drug. However, it turns out that the two children are starting to improve."Last night I just spoke from friends of the RSCM, maybe not necessarily GGAPA. Why? Because once given the infection drug goes down, usually if GAPA has to be given a fomepizole. It can't be done with an infectious drug," explained Budi. However, to determine whether these two new cases include GGAPA or not, the Ministry of Health is still waiting for the results of blood tests and the consumption of sirop drugs that are suspected to contain EG/DEG."The lab results for the blood and the medicine have not yet come out. It just came out maybe this afternoon. We'll see if there is an EG/DEG. Still suspected," Budi said. Some time ago, two suspected cases of GGAPA emerged in Jakarta and Central Java. The suspected case in Jakarta was previously reported to have a fever on January 26 and there were complaints of not being able to urinate (anuria). After being examined, the child did not have GGAPA.In addition, another suspected patient who was treated at Dr. Moewardo Hospital Surakarta, Central Java, was not included in the acute kidney failure category due to kidney failure caused by congenital disease.
