Prevent Family Clusters, Doni Monardo: Even At Home, Use A Mask
JAKARTA - Chairperson of the Task Force for Handling COVID-19 Doni Monardo asked the public to continue implementing health protocols even at home. This aims to prevent the occurrence of the family cluster, which is the largest cluster of COVID-19 transmission.
"Even though at home we have to follow health protocols and we have to convey to the whole community the use of masks, especially to maintain a distance, once again I repeat keeping this distance is very important," said Doni in a press conference broadcast on the BNPB YouTube account, Thursday, January 7. .
He said that the family cluster is currently one of the causes of the most virus transmission and this is due to the presence of young family members who transmit it to vulnerable groups in the family environment. This, said Doni, might happen if the young person still has high mobility and is unknowingly exposed to COVID-19.
In addition to the family cluster, Doni also explained that there are a number of other clusters that spread the COVID-19 case, namely the religious cluster due to religious activities. This cluster, he continued, also resulted in many religious leaders who were exposed to the virus and died.
Other clusters that also contributed to the number of positive cases of COVID-19 were the market cluster to offices.
So, anyone without exception must follow 3M's health protocol, namely wearing a mask, maintaining distance, and washing hands anywhere, including at home. Especially now that the government has again restricted community activities.
"After there are provisions for limiting community activities which refer to large-scale social restrictions (PSBB) in accordance with the Health Quarantine Law No. 6/2018 and PP 21/2020, when we are all at home we must adhere to health protocols," he said.
The head of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) also reminded that this COVID was real and not something that was fabricated or conspiracy. So, in addition to asking the public to strictly implement health protocols, Doni also asked community leaders to continue to socialize about the dangers of this virus.
"This COVID is real, not engineered, and this COVID is not a conspiracy. Covid has already caused casualties worldwide, up to nearly two million people," he said.
"In our own country, the number of victims who have died has reached more than 23,296 people. This is a huge number. So it is real and the day they are exposed to COVID is getting closer to us," he concluded.
