Facebook And Instagram Block Donald Trump Account

JAKARTA - Not only Twitter, other social media such as Facebook and Instagram have also taken action to freeze the account of the President of the United States (US) Donald Trump.

As a result, for the time being Trump and the admin of the page cannot upload (post) any content for 24 hours. Facebook believes that Donald Trump's Facebook page has committed a policy violation.

We've assessed two policy violations against President Trump's Page which will result in a 24-hour feature block, meaning he will lose the ability to post on the platform during that time.

Before being frozen, Facebook deleted Donald Trump's video posted at his supporters on Wednesday afternoon. The deletion of the video was carried out on Donald Trump's Facebook and Instagram accounts.

"We deleted it because we believed it would reduce the risk of ongoing violence," wrote the Facebook Newsroom page, Thursday, January 7.

Not only Facebook, Instagram also locked Donald Trump's account. CEO of Instagram, Adam Mosseri announced that on Twitter.

"We locked President Donald Trump's Instagram account for 24 hours too," Adam wrote while retweeting the announcement from Facebook.

Facebook also took several actions related to the chaos that occurred in Washington DC. Some of the content supporting violent acts was removed, including calls by demonstrators to bring weapons to Capitol Hill.

"At this stage, they show the promotion of criminal activity in violation of our policies," wrote Facebook.
