Fake Oil Found In Central Java, The Ministry Of Trade Asks Currency Oil Traders To Follow The Rules

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Trade (Kemendag) found fraud in the repackaging of bulk cooking oil into oil oil in Central Java (Central Java). In fact, the oil is sold above the highest retail price (HET) of Rp. 14,000 per liter.

Director General of Consumer Protection and Trade Order Veri Anggrijono said this fake cooking oil was traded by falsifying the oil brand into Our Oil.

Found bulk cooking oil illegally repackaged by falsifying the brand 'Oinya' into 'Our oil'. The forgery also includes HET that is not in accordance with applicable regulations," he said in an official statement, Sunday, February 19.

Based on these findings, Veri asked business actors who produce and trade oil palm oil to always comply with laws and regulations related to the governance of the people's cooking oil program. If not, the government will enforce the law as a last resort.

"Law enforcement based on applicable regulations against all forms of violations in the implementation of the People's Goreng Oil Program, both bulk and packaging of the oilquake brand that is traded, either directly or via electronic systems, will continue as a last resort," he said.

Veri also asked business actors who produce and trade oil palm oil to always obey statutory regulations related to the governance of the people's cooking oil program.

The people's cooking oil program is regulated in the Regulation of the Minister of Trade Number 49 of 2022. People's cooking oil in the form of packaging with the oil brand cannot be sold beyond the HET of Rp. 14,000 per liter.

Currently, said Veri, the government prioritizes the sale of oil products through the people's market. This is so that people who need it can obtain oil at affordable prices so that the supply of oil and land is really right on target.

"Oinyakita will continue to be produced. The government has also increased the supply of DMOs to ensure that the supply of oil palm oil returns to normal and according to HET, and is increasingly affordable by the community," he said.
