Diet Malas, Michael Chandler Please Duel Against McGregor To Be Held In Walter's Class

JAKARTA - Lightweight fighter Michael Chandler will face Conor McGregor on the UFC agenda later this year. Regarding the meeting, Chandler hopes the UFC will hold its battle in the welterweight on the grounds that it is lazy to diet.

The welterweight itself is a weight limit in the UFC weighing 170 pounds or (77.1 kg). While the lightweight class is one level below it with a limit of 155 pounds (70.3 kg) in terms of the weight limit at the UFC.

Regarding the duel between Chandler and McGregor, Dana White as UFC President said that this fight will be held in the lightweight class. Because the names of the two are still listed as challengers for the lightweight title.

However, Chandler felt that it would be easier for him and McGregor to reach the welterweight weight limit with their physicality now.

In addition, Chandler hopes the meeting can be held in a welterweight because he is also reluctant to lose weight at this time.

"I heard Dana say something about the lightweight," Michael Chandler was quoted as saying by BJPENN.com on Sunday, February 19.

"I'm not even close to the 155 pound class right now, so let it just be like that. I don't like to talk about how much weight I can cut or not, how much weight I have or my weight.

"But it would be nice if the weight dropped just a little, it would be uncomfortable to drop to 170 pounds from my weight now," Chandler continued.

According to Chandler, it looks like McGregor will also agree more about the welterweight for their fight later. The reason is, now The Notorious actually has a more body that contains during the post-injury recovery period.

"I think Conor will ask for the same thing as me, this makes a lot of sense for us to fight in the welterweight," he said.

"But again, I am not the one in charge of making that decision. So we'll see what happens," Chandler explained.

Michael Chandler's meeting with McGregor is scheduled to be presented in the United States. This fight plan emerged after the two met on The Ultimate Fighter 31 as coaches. This is a wish that came true for Chandler, who joined the UFC two years ago.
