The Inauguration Of The RDF Plant Bantargebang Molor, The DKI Provincial Government Wants To Make Sure In Advance The Quality Of The Waste Consumption

Head of the DKI Jakarta Environmental Agency (LH) Asep Kuswanto explained the cause of the delay in the target of the inauguration of the Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) Plant and Lanfdil mining at the Bantargebang Integrated Waste Disposal Site (TPST), Bekasi, West Java.

Currently, the progress of the work before the inauguration is in commissioning or testing the comprehensive waste processing plant into coal equivalent fuel. The commissioning stage has been carried out since early January.

"Indeed, currently it is still commissioning. So the commissioning that we have carried out on the test of the machine. Then we have started testing the waste in a quantity manner," Asep said when met on Jalan MH Thamrin, Central Jakarta, Sunday, February 19.

In the commissioning stage in terms of quantity and followed by quality, Asep said that the DKI Provincial Government wants to ensure that the fuel products from waste processing are tested, before being sold to the company.

"Now it is being tested for quality. Why is it important to test quality? Because the RDF that we will sell will be purchased by a cement factory. They hope that there are criteria for quality waste that their clients hope to receive, by their burners," said Asep.

"We are in the final test stage so that not only from the quantity that is fulfilled, but also the quality of the RDF," he continued.

This waste processing facility into coal equivalent fuel owned by the DKI Provincial Government has begun construction work through ground breaking by former DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan in February 2022.

Asep hopes that the RDF Plant can be inaugurated in March. Asep also hopes that the RDF Plant will be inaugurated directly by President Joko Widodo.

"It is hoped that in March, everything can be completed with a quality test because looking for the right quality turns out to be a challenge in itself. That's what we feel, both in terms of calories, in terms of humidity, or the measure of water levels, we are also trying to continue," explained Asep.

The RDF Plant in Bantargebang can process 2,000 tons of waste in one day, namely 1,000 tons that have accumulated in Bantargebang, and 1,000 tons of new waste coming from Jakarta. The 2,000 tons of processed waste will be able to produce around 700-750 tons of fuel.
