It's Arrived, Ronaldo Kwateh Doesn't Get The U-20 Defense Team Green Light In New Zealand's Mini Vs Tournament
JAKARTA - The U-20 Indonesian national team will undergo their second match against New Zealand in the Mini Tournament agenda, on Sunday, February 19 evening. Ahead of this match, Ronaldo Kwateh did not get the green light to join the team.
The player, who just got a contract from the Turkish club, Bodrumspor, was late for joining the U-20 national team's training camp (TC) which had started since February 1. Due to that situation, Ronaldo was not registered in the line-up in the first match against Fiji.
The situation that Ronaldo will return to being an audience is likely to happen again in the match against New Zealand. This is based on his condition, which has only been around for a few days from Turkey.
"Indeed (during training, last Saturday), I checked what Ronaldo's condition (Kwateh) was like, after checking he did not have a portion of his training in Turkey. So for this friendly match tournament, it might not be played," said Shin Tae-yong during the training session Saturday, February 18.
Although it will not be played during the match against New Zealand, coach Shin Tae-yong does not deny that Ronaldo will be prepared to appear for the 2023 U-20 Asian Cup.
On the other hand, Ronaldo, who had heard the news, welcomed the South Korean coach's plan. He also admitted that he was happy to be back in training with his colleagues in the U-20 Indonesian national team.
"I'm very happy that I can quickly adapt to my friends and hopefully I can have a good impact on the team," said Ronaldo Kwateh.
With the absence of Ronaldo Kwateh, the U-20 national team still has stock of attackers filled with Rabbani Tasnim Siddiq, Hugo Samir, and Hokky Caraka. However, in the match against New Zealand, Hokky will certainly not play because he gets a red card from the previous match.
