Illegal Charges In The Land Land Land Land Location Kupang Rekah Warga

JAKARTA - Illegal levies carried out by youth officers at the landslide natural disaster site in Takari, Kupang Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Province are troubling residents who pass on alternative routes, because the service of transporting goods belonging to passengers is determined by the youths to be too high.

"We ask the government and security forces to help curb illegal levies carried out by youth officers in Takari against residents who pass on alternative roads, because the price benchmarks for lifting goods belonging to passengers are very high," said one local resident, Petrus Seran in Kupang, quoted by Antara, Sunday.

He said the youths set a price of around Rp. 40,000 to Rp. 50,000 to lift luggage belonging to passengers who were about to cross from Takari to Kupang City.

Meanwhile, to help cross motorcycles, it is pegged at a price of Rp. 100,000 to Rp. 150,000/motor.

"This price is very high, especially in conditions of this natural disaster, of course it is not natural for them to set such a price, because the financial condition of the passengers is also limited," said Petrus Seran.

According to him, passengers do not mind if there is a service fee for transporting goods, but do not be too high, because it is burdensome for residents who want to pass.

"If the money you have is limited, it will be very burdensome, so we hope it will not be too expensive, because many residents must pass through alternative routes and need the services of the youths," said Perus Seran.

Meanwhile, Kupang Police Chief AKBP FX Irwan Arianto admitted that he had ordered members of the Police who were at the landslide disaster site in Takari to monitor the activities of the youths.

"In a disaster like this, it is certainly not natural to attract levies at a price that is too high, so it is disturbing for passengers who want to pass on these alternative roads," he said.
