Vice President Ma'ruf: Tawakal To Allah Does Not Mean Passive

WEST JAVA - Vice President (Vice President) Ma'ruf Amin said that tawakal by istigasah or begging Allah does not mean being silent or passive doing nothing.

This was conveyed by the Vice President while attending the Muhasabah and the Istigasah of the National Safety Prayer during the commemoration of Isra Mikraj 1444 H, at the Cianjur Grand Mosque, West Java, Sunday 19 February.

"I welcome this event, especially called istigasah kubro. Istigasah means asking Allah SWT for help. Why do we ask Allah for help, this means that there is no power other than Allah," said the Vice President.

He said, Allah is the Most Knowing. Everything that Allah wants to happen is certain to happen.

Therefore, he said, Muslims must carry out istigasah in order to ask for the sake and help of Allah SWT.

The vice president reminded that in praying for the help of Allah SWT, the people did not mean that they were silent or passive.

"Allah asks us to take steps, efforts," said the Vice President.

Meanwhile, the Army Chief of Staff (KSAD) General TNI Dudung Abdurachman who was present on the occasion expressed hope that the commemoration of Isra Mikraj could further increase faith and piety to Allah SWT.

Dudung emphasized that the istigasah kubro activity is one of the means of getting closer to Allah SWT.
