Check Food Prices At Wonokromo Market, Jokowi: Price Stability We Want
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) reminded the importance of stability of basic food prices in Indonesia. Do not let inflation occur because of soaring prices.
This was conveyed by President Jokowi when checking the prices of basic necessities at Wonokromo Market, Surabaya today, Saturday, February 18. During the visit he was accompanied by the Governor of East Java Khofifah Indar Parawansa.
"We want price stability like this," Jokowi said in a YouTube broadcast by the Presidential Secretariat, Saturday, February 18.
He explained that in the market, rice prices per 5 kilograms reached Rp44 thousand. Jokowi said, rice stocks in the market were also abundant, which indicated that Bulog's operations had reached the market and stalls.
"Second, those who often go up and down oil. Oil, I see that stock is there even though it is not abundant and the price is still at Rp. 14 thousand," he said.
Then the price of eggs was also said by Jokowi to have decreased. "Although (down, red) it was only Rp1,000 but it went down," said the former governor of DKI Jakarta.
Finally, Jokowi also mentioned the price of shallots that are now falling. He hopes that this stability will continue to be maintained.
"Don't be like rice last month, raising high inflation," he said.
He also advised that this price stability should occur. "In all countries, it's not just in East Java," concluded Jokowi.
