Hold A Hattoise For Sota Merauke Health Center Health Workers Who Also Cares For New Guinea's Papuans
JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of Commission IX of the House of Representatives (DPR) Emanuel Melkiades Laka Lena praised the health workers (nakes) of the Sota Health Center, Merauke, South Papua. Health services are not only for the people of Indonesia but also for the people of Papua New Guinea.
In a written statement received in Jakarta, Saturday, February 18, Melkiades said the Sota Health Center contributed to providing health services in border areas.
"Health workers at the Sota Health Center are of course taking into account the energy and costs they have, taking care of various things that are not only from the existing funds," said Melkiades as quoted by Antara.
What is witnessed by Commission IX, related to the tasks carried out by the health workers of the Sota Health Center, will be the subject of a discussion between Commission IX of the DPR and the Ministry of Health, to fight for the aspirations of health workers, especially regarding the appreciation to the health workers who work in border areas. "Of course we will discuss with the Ministry of Health to find out whether there are some kind of incentives or awards to health workers who work in border areas of the country such as at the Sota Health Center," said Melkiades. According to Melkiades, what has been done by health workers at the Sota Health Center deserves an award from the state. Serving the health of the people not only Indonesia but also the Papua New Guinea community. "Of course, we will find the mechanism, the proper regulations so that later it can fulfill the aspirations conveyed by health workers at the Sota Health Center," he said. In the visit, Commission IX of the DPR RI also held a dialogue with health workers at the Sota Health Center. He also said that there would be assistance from the central government to puskesmas in the regions, one of which is an ultrasonograhphy (USG) laboratory as needed by the Sota Health Center.
This health facility is needed by the Sota Health Center to serve pregnant women in checking their fetal development.
"Indeed, the ultrasound plan will be given to all Puskesmas in Indonesia, including those in Sota. Indeed, this is only a matter of time, but this year it will certainly be sent to various health centers including the Sota Health Center," said Melkiades emphasized. On the same occasion, Member of Commission IX DPR RI Nurhadi appreciated the dedication of the health workers of the Sota Health Center.
He said that it was very difficult to find health workers who wanted to be placed in border areas such as the Sota Health Center which directly borders Indonesia Papua New Guinea.
"We appreciate them (health workers) who want to be placed in this border area, their welfare must also be more considered so that they can also be comfortable in providing services," Nurhadi added.
