Dozens Of Hotels In East Kalimantan Receive CHSE Certificates, Hopefully They Can Attract Tourists

JAKARTA - Head of the Provincial Tourism Office of East Kalimantan Sri Wahyuni said that as many as thirty hotels in the local area had received CHSE (Cleanliness, Hygiene, Sanitation, and Environment) certificates from the Ministry of Tourism.

"We quite appreciate the management of the hotel for the receipt of this CHSE certificate," said the Head of East Kalimantan Tourism Agency Sri Wahyuni in Samarinda, reported by Antara, Thursday, January 7.

According to Sri Wahyuni, giving CHSE certificates to hotel managers is one strategy to face a period of adaptation to new habits in the tourism sector and the creative economy (Parekraf).

He explained that the CHSE Certificate was given to hotel managers after pocketing an assessment certificate from an independent auditor (Kemenparekraf, Tuv Theinland, Mutu Certification International, and Sucofindo).

He added, for the implementation of MICE activities (meetings, incentives, conventions, exhibitions), we still have to coordinate and follow the provisions of the COVID-19 Task Force Team in each region, as well as with the implementation of health protocols.

"These CHSE certified hotels are recommended for MICE activities, especially meetings with health protocols," he explained.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the DPD Indonesia Hotel General Manager Association (IHGMA) Kaltim Adith Raharjo said IHGMA will continue to attend and is committed to maintaining the quality of hospitality in East Kalimantan so that it remains trusted by the public at home and abroad.

"By receiving this certificate, hopefully it will increase market confidence in coming to East Kalimantan," he said.

There are 30 hotels that received CHSE certificates, namely Samarinda area 17 hotels, Balikpapan area 14 hotels, Sangatta area, Tenggarong, Penajam Paser Utara three hotels.
