Pollution Of Baku Water, PDAM Bogor Regency, Susur Sungai Cikeas
BOGOR- Regional Public Company (Perumda) Tirta Kahuripan has mapped the potential for environmental pollution in the Cikeas River, precisely in Gunungputri District, Bogor Regency, West Java.
General Director of Perumda Air Drinking Tirta Kahuripan, Abdul Somad in his statement in Bogor, Friday, said that this mapping was carried out by walking along the Cikeas River to find out the location of the pollution that often interferes with the process of processing clean water at the Gunungputri Water Processing Installation (IPA).
"This is done as a risk mitigation in the event of a disturbance caused by nature or due to human activities that damage river vegetation," he said.
Abdul Somad said the activity after the Cikeas River was carried out in collaboration with the Cikeas Cileungsi River Care Community (KP2C) and the Bekasi City Environment Agency.
The evictions were carried out starting from the At Thohir Mosque, Tapos, Depok City to Gunungputri Installation with a route of 36 kilometers and a travel time of 7 hours.
According to him, this joint KP2C activity certainly benefits Perumda Air Drinking Tirta Kahuripan in terms of mitigating the risk of pollution and the risk of flood disasters that often hit the Cikeas River which resulted in the Gunungputri IPA unable to process water.
"With an early warning from KP2C regarding floods and waste contamination upstream of the river, it will give Perumda Air Drinking Tirta Kahuripan time to anticipate it early," said Abdul Somad.
He hopes that early anticipation efforts can minimize losses and maximize water supply in recervoirs to maintain the flow of clean water to customers while in critical condition.
"In the future, this joint river crossing activity will continue and is planned to involve related agencies in Bogor Regency to see firsthand the state of the Cikeas River vegetation which is affected by industrial waste and land clearing that is not in accordance with the regulations," he said.
Abdul Somad hopes that the government will firmly impose sanctions and education on perpetrators of environmental pollution to maintain river vegetation which is the raw water source for Perumda Air Drinking Tirta Kahuripan.
Meanwhile, the Chairperson of KP2C, Puarman praised the steps taken by Perumda Tirta Kahuripan in conducting the Cikeas River with the environmental care community.
"In addition to mapping the potential for pollution, this activity educates the public to love rivers while at the same time caring for the Cikeas River to remain beautiful," said Puarman.
He revealed, as long as the river crossing was found several locations with the potential for pollution and damage to river vegetation ranging from animal farming waste, tofu factory waste, illegal waste disposal, inappropriate land clearing, bamboo clump waste due to erosion to looting of river border lines.
