It Is Suspected That He Was Attacked By Crocodiles, Fishermen From Kutai Kartanegara Went Missing In The Bumbung River
TENGGARONG - Basarnas Samarinda, East Kalimantan and a joint team conducted a search around the Bumbung River, Anggana District, Kutai Kartanegara Regency to find a fisherman who was missing who allegedly drowned in the river. It is suspected that the fisherman was attacked by a crocodile.
Head of the Samarinda SAR Alert Unit, Riqi Efendi, in Kutai Kartanegara, said that the search was continuing, while until now the results were still nil.
"We have also conducted a search at the location around the victim suspected of drowning or being eaten by a crocodile. However, until now the search has not yielded any results," Riqi was quoted as saying by ANTARA, Friday, February 17.
He explained that the identity of the victim was named Aspiansyah (41), male, a resident of Handil D, Handil Canal Village, Anggana District, Kutai Kartanegara Regency.
"For the initial chronology, on Wednesday, February 15, at around 07.00 WITA, the victim and his partner checked the net that had previously been installed," he said.
He said after checking the net, the victim's partner crossed where the victim put the net, then saw that the victim was not on the boat.
The victim's colleague had called the victim's name but there was no reply. Not long after, the victim's colleague saw a crocodile passing around the victim's boat and saw the hat that was exactly worn by the victim.
"It is suspected that the victim may have been attacked by a crocodile, and until now the team is still conducting sweeps in an even further area," he said.
