The Chairman Of The Democratic Faction Of The East Java DPRD Was Questioned By The KPK Regarding The Discussion Of Grant Funds
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is questioning members of the East Java DPRD (East Java) Muhamad Reno Zulkarnaen in today's investigation. The chairman of the Democratic Party faction of the East Java DPRD was questioned as a witness to the alleged bribery of grant funds that ensnared the Deputy Chairman of the East Java DPRD, Sahat Tua Simanjuntak.
"The witnesses from the DPRD have so far been confirmed regarding the rules and discussions of grant funds," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters, Thursday, February 16.
Apart from Reno, there were four members of the East Java DPRD who were questioned. They are the Chair of the PPP faction of the East Java DPRD, Achmad Sillahuddin; members of the East Java DPRD from the PDIP faction, namely Agus Wicaksono and Wara Sundari Renny Pramana; as well as members of the East Java DPRD from the PKB faction Aliyadi.
Meanwhile, KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri confirmed that the alleged bribery of the grant funds would be thoroughly investigated. Legislators who are suspected of participating in the hot money will be brushed off.
"KPK is still working and please give investigators time to complete requests for information to all parties. Later, the KPK will definitely convey the results to media and public colleagues," said Firli.
Previously, Deputy Chairman of the East Java DPRD, Sahat Tua P. Simandjuntak, had been named a suspect. In addition, there are three other suspects, namely Sahat expert staff, Rusdi; Abdul Hamid who is the Head of Jelgung Village, Robatal District, Sampang Regency who is also the Coordinator of the Community Group; and Ilham Wahyudi alias Eeng who is the Coordinator of Pokmas Field.
The determination of the four suspects was carried out after they were caught in a hand arrest operation (OTT) on Wednesday, December 14. This action is based on information from the public who know about the handover of money related to the management of the allocation of grant funds.
The KPK said Sahat allegedly offered assistance to facilitate the proposed grant funds, which totaled Rp7.8 trillion. This provision is intended for bodies, institutions, community organizations in the East Java Provincial Government.
Sahat received from 2021 and continued until 2022 and then agreed to help for 2023 and 2024. The money received by the Golkar Party politician is thought to have reached Rp5 billion.
