"The Problem Of Whether Karyoto-Endar Becomes Promoted," Said The KPK Depending On Police Decree
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said the promotion of the Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK Karyoto and the Director of Investigation Endar Priantoro is now in the hands of the Police. The Bhayangkara Corps will determine the fate of the proposal.
"The original agency will consider that," said Head of the KPK news Department Ali Fikri to reporters at the KPK's Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Thursday, February 16.
"This is a proposal. The proposal (decisiond, ed) is there (Polri, ed)," he continued.
Even so, Ali ensured that the promotion proposal sent by KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri since November 2022 was not related to the investigation into alleged corruption in the implementation of Formula E in Jakarta.
He said the sending of the letter was part of the management of the KPK. According to Ali, recommendations for promotion or position for civil servants who have been employed for more than two years can indeed be done.
"(KPK Investigation Director Endar Priantoro has worked, red) 2.5 years and the Deputy (KPK Deputy for Enforcement and Execution Karyoto) has worked for 2 years and 9 months for almost 3 years. So it is proposed to be promoted," Ali explained.
For information, Endar and Karyoto have recently been in the spotlight after news circulated of proposals for an increase in office. If this happens, the two active police officers will return to their agencies.
This issue arose in the middle of an investigation into alleged corruption in the implementation of Formula E.
In addition, this issue also arose when the KPK returned the Rohcahyanto Fitroh, who previously served as Director of Prosecution to his agency, the Attorney General's Office. However, this return was denied regarding Formula E.
Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri said Fitroh was returned because he wanted a career in the Adhyaksa Corps. Currently, his position has been replaced by M. Asri Irwan as acting (Plt) Director of Prosecution.
"(The return, ed) at his own request some time ago, last year to develop a career there. At the Attorney General's Office," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters at the KPK's Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Thursday, February 2.
