PSSI KLB Colored With Frictions, PSSI Deputy General Chairperson Voting Must Repeat

JAKARTA The PSSI Extraordinary Congress (KLB) was marked by friction during the election of the deputy chairman. This incident forced the vote for the waketum position to be repeated.

The owner of the voting rights from Persiba Balikpapan Togar Simanjuntak said the argument occurred because the owner of the voting rights felt rigged. Therefore, the congress decided to hold a re-election.

"The deputy general chairman will be re-elected," he told the media crew at the Shangri-La Hotel, Central Jakarta, Thursday, February 16, 2023.

Tigor explained that the friction between the congress participants occurred because the names of the candidates chosen by the voters were not read out at the time of the count.

"Many wrote the name Ratu Tisha, missing. Some wrote the name Ahmad Syauqi Soeratno, missing. Some wrote the name Ahmad Riyadh missing," he said.

The commotion made the congress participants propose to replace the Electoral Committee (KP). They even had time to ask for the ballot paper to be shown.

Tigor said the hot atmosphere lasted for two to three hours. However, the situation was then successfully brokered by Mochamad Iriawan, chairman of PSSI 2019-2023.

"So, listening to Mr. Iriawan's authority. This congress was saved by Iriawan's authority," he said.

"The voters were angry, it was the old executive committee, which betrayed Pak Iriawan, now they want to betray all the congress participants. That's what makes us angry," he added.

He continued, even though the atmosphere was tense, there was no physical complaint between congress participants.

"No. This is PSSI. Orderly. There is nothing physical, just an arrangement. There is no commotion, just a protest. But the protest is very loud. How come the name that is stabbed is not mentioned, it is not counted. Friends ask for the paper to be opened," he said.

In the first election, the names of the Minister of Youth and Sports Zainudin Amali and Yunus Nusi came out as winners. Both of them collected 66 and 63 votes each.
