LPSK Thanks Richardas Not Dismissed From The Police
JAKARTA - Chairman of the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) Hasto Atmojo Suroyo responded positively to the verdict read by the panel of judges against the defendant Richard totaling alias Bharada E who was a justice collaborator (JC) recommended by LPSK.
In addition to the light verdict for Richard totaling alias Bharada E, LPSK also mentioned that Richard totaling still has the opportunity to continue his career as a member of the National Police.
"He does not need to be dismissed from the police, this is the most grateful. That is what we must be grateful for," Hasto told reporters at the LPSK office, East Jakarta, Wednesday, February 15.
Regarding Richard total security, LPSK will immediately coordinate with the Correctional Institution (Lapas).
"Oia of course, we will coordinate if she is placed in prison, we will coordinate with the Director General of Police to ensure the safety of the person concerned. (LPSK continues to maintain) until the sentence is complete, after she is released, LPSK will still provide protection and ensure security," he said.
Previously, it was reported that the defendant Richard totaling alias Bharada E in the serial murder case against Yosua alias Brigadier J was finally sentenced to 1 year and 6 months in prison at the South Jakarta District Court, Wednesday, February 15.
The Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) stated that the judge's verdict was much lighter than the 12-year prison sentence filed by the public prosecutor (JPU) at the last trial.
The reason is, since the level of investigation, LPSK has recommended Bharada E as a Justice Collaborator or a witness for the perpetrators who cooperated with law enforcement to uncover cases.
LPSK is satisfied with the existence of a panel of judges who granted the justice collaborator recommendation which refers to Law (UU) number 31 of 2014.
