Jakarta Transitional PSBB Is Not Stricted, PSI Asked Anies To Apply Curfew
JAKARTA - Chairman of the Jakarta DPRD PSI faction, Idris Ahmad, regrets that the move by the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan has extended the transition period of the PSBB, rather than being tightened.
In fact, said Idris, the end of 2020 holiday has the potential to increase the number of COVID-19 cases. Therefore, Idris suggested implementing a curfew.
In addition, he asked DKI to require a rapid antigen test requirement for anyone leaving and entering the capital.
"The end of 2020's Pascalibur is a critical period. The DKI Provincial Government has been asked to set curfew restrictions and an obligation to conduct rapid antigen tests for those entering and leaving Jakarta," said Idris in his statement, Wednesday, January 6.
Idris said this step could reduce the number of cases that would occur after the Christmas and New Year holidays. Because, according to him, the addition of active cases that are urgently handled at this time has overwhelmed health workers.
The ICU occupancy rate has reached 79 percent, the isolation bed filling has reached 87 percent. The capacity of the Wisma Atlet Hospital is almost full, so they have to refuse OTG patients.
"This proves that Jakarta is having difficulty handling the increase in existing active cases," said Idris.
Not to mention, the increase was also seen from the number of vulnerable RWs in Jakarta, which more than doubled from 21 RWs to 55 RWs. This means that there is no district that is free from the increase in active cases.
"This shows that Jakarta is experiencing massive transmission, family members who only occasionally leave the house can transmit the virus at home," he said.
From here, Idris considers that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government needs to emphasize that the COVID-19 pandemic still exists and continues to threaten the health of citizens. In addition to education about 3M implementation, the implementation of 3T practices must be continuously improved.
"It must be done together, the community implements 3M and the government increases the 3T, this must continue to be done as long as this pandemic continues," he said.
