Apart From Bantargebang, The DKI Provincial Government Plans To Build A Second RDF Plant In Rorotan
Head of the DKI Jakarta Environmental Agency, Asep Kuswanto, said that his party would rebuild the second Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) Plant in Jakarta. Currently, the RDF Plant owned by the DKI Provincial Government was first established in Bantargebang, Bekasi, West Java.
It is projected that the waste processing facility into fuel equivalent to coal will be built in the Rorotan area, North Jakarta.
"We will plan again to build a second one. Hopefully it can be in the city. We are looking for a local government area of 5 hectares for us to build RDF. It is possible that in the north of the Rorotan area because there are local government assets there," Asep told reporters, Tuesday, February 14.
However, the RDF Plant that will be built in this city will not be used as a landfill for final waste like the Bantargebang TPST, but only a waste treatment location.
Furthermore, the RDF Plant in Rorotan is targeted to be built in 2024. This year, the DKI Provincial Government is still compiling a feasibility study document for the building.
"Right, this year we will make the FS. Hopefully, next year we can start choosing partners and building construction," said Asep.
Currently, the construction of RDF Plant in Bantargebang is still in process. Asep said that the progress of the work was in commissioning or testing the comprehensive waste processing plant into coal equivalent fuel. The commissioning stage has been carried out since early January.
"Hopefully starting on February 18 tomorrow, the commissioning will be completed and we can start operating commercially," said Asep.
The RDF Plant in Bantargebang can process 2,000 tons of waste in one day, namely 1,000 tons that have accumulated in Bantargebang, and 1,000 tons of new waste coming from Jakarta. The 2,000 tons of processed waste will be able to produce around 700-750 tons of fuel.
