Brigadier J's Family Can Defend A Civil Lawsuit On Ferdy Sambo-Putri Candrawathi's Lie
JAKARTA - ASA Indonesia Institute researcher, Reza Indragiri Amriel assessed that a civil lawsuit could be filed by the family of Yosua Nopriansyah or Brigadier J against the former Head of the Propam Police Division Ferdy Sambo and his wife, Putri Candrawati.
The reason is that both of them have lied to the public as if Brigadier J's death was caused because he had sexually harassed him which resulted in murder. In fact, the consideration of the South Jakarta District Court (PN) Panel of Judges did not state that.
"It is very possible that the Yosua family will file a civil lawsuit, compensation for FS and PC," Reza said as quoted from his written statement, Tuesday, February 14.
"Change losses for all lies and character assassination against Joshua," he continued.
Reza appreciated Ferdy's death sentence. Three targets were successfully shown by the judge through the verdict.
"By imposing the death penalty for FS, the judge has made their decision to achieve three targets at once: the judge's career, muruah in the eyes of the public, and the authority of the criminal justice system from the possibility of being bought by perpetrators of arbitrarily and in power crimes," he stressed.
As previously reported, Ferdy Sambo was sentenced to death in the premeditated murder case of Brigadier J on Monday, February 13. The panel of judges at the South Jakarta District Court found him guilty of violating Article 340 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 55 Paragraph 1 to (1) of the Criminal Code.
In passing the verdict, the judge considered mitigating and aggravating factors.
Aggravating considerations, Ferdy was considered complicated when giving testimony. He also committed a crime against his own aide and caused tremendous noise.
In addition, Ferdy Sambo is also considered to have tarnished and dragged many police officers into legal cases and did not admit his actions. Meanwhile, the panel of judges did not see it.
