Kominfo Follows Up On Government Sites That AreSUpped By A Bond Content
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Communication and Information (Kominfo) has followed up on 683 governments and educational institutions that are infiltrated by gambling-loaded content.
Based on his findings from January 1 to February 13, the Director General of Informatics Applications at the Ministry of Communication and Information, Semuel Abrijani Pangerapan, said that at least 461 sites with the go.id domain and 222 sites with the ac.id domain were targeted for hacking.
"We have contacted the domain manager's contacts who were compromised by gambling content and temporarily deactivated the name of the abused domain," he explained, quoted from the Kominfo page.
According to Semuel, in accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Communication and Information Technology Number 5 of 2015, the Ministry of Communication and Informatics has the authority to temporarily deactivate domain names that are under surveillance due to abuse problems.
"This is in accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Communication and Information Technology Number 5 of 2015 which stipulates that every Electronic System Operator must carry out the Electronic System reliably, safely, and be responsible for the operation of the Electronic System as it should be," he said.
The handling is also in accordance with Government Regulation Number 71 of 2019 concerning the Implementation of Electronic Systems and Transactions which regulates the responsibility of the organizers to their respective electronic systems.
Currently, the Ministry of Communication and Informatics is also working with the National Cyber Crypto Agency (BSSN) and the Indonesian Internet Domain Name Manager (PANDI) for handling websites experiencing abuse problems.
According to Sammy, the reason why government websites are compromised by gambling content is due to a lack of cybersecurity understanding, as well as many domains that are no longer actively used by government agencies.
Therefore, the Ministry of Communication and Informatics appealed to domain managers.go.id to migrate websites to the Temporary National Data Center (PDNS) which can be accessed through pdn.layanan.go.id.
