Test Of Counter Academy Of Persija Valued By Shin Tae-yong Is Not Effective, The Reason For
JAKARTA - The U-20 Indonesian national team underwent a test match against Persija Jakarta's academy at Gelora Bung Karno, Saturday, February 11. In that match, Garuda Nusantara won a score of 3-1.
However, this did not satisfy the U-20 Indonesian national team coach, Shin Tae-yong. According to him, the match was not effective for his team.
The reason is, the main players in his team did not play in that match. During the match, the names of players such as Marselino Ferdinand, Ronaldo Kwateh, Muhammad Ferarri, Cahya Supriadi, Alfriyanto Nico, Dony Pamungkas, Kakang Rudianto, and Ferdiansyah Cecep have not joined the U-20 national team squad.
"Actually, this match is not effective enough because the core players have not arrived," Shin said as quoted by Antara, Monday, February 13.
According to Shin, this condition makes it difficult for him to measure the quality of his squad at this time when viewed by team.
However, the trial match at least helped Shin to assess the individual abilities of his foster children.
"The performance is still not good. However, we are not focused on the results. The important thing is that I can see and read the abilities of the players," said the South Korean tactician.
In that match, the U-20 Indonesian national team won goals scored by Hugo Samir, Resa Aditya, and Ginanjar Wahyu.
The match became a friendly match on the sidelines of the training camp (TC) for the preparation of the 2023 U-20 Asian Cup. TC was held in Jakarta, February 1-2.
The 2023 U-20 Asian Cup will take place in Uzbekistan, on March 1-18. In that tournament, Indonesia is in Group A with Uzbekistan, Iraq, and Syria.
Indonesia will fight Iraq on March 1, then duel with Syria on March 4, and host Uzbekistan on March 7.
