Impact Of The Turkish Earthquake, 3,553 Syrian Residents Died

New data on Saturday 11 February shows that the devastating earthquake that occurred in South Turkey on Monday 6 February also had bad consequences for the Syrian people. The Syrian Ministry of Health reported that at least 3,553 Syrians had died and thousands more were injured.

According to reports, 1,387 people died in the provinces of Aleppo, Latakia, Hama, and Tartus, while 2,326 others were injured. Syrian Civil Defense stated that 2,166 people were killed and more than 2,950 others injured in areas controlled by opposition in northwestern Syria.

Many buildings were damaged or destroyed in opposition-controlled areas north of Syria, rescue teams are now struggling to find survivors. The Syrian government and international organizations are working to help victims and restore conditions after the disaster.

The surviving Syrians are now living in concern and fear of the long-term impact of this earthquake. The need for medical aid, evacuation, and food aid is increasingly important to help them recover their lives.
