Minister Of PUPR Targets Cisumdawu Toll Road Sections 4 And 5 Functional At The End Of February 2023

JAKARTA - Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono targets the Cileunyi-Sumedang-Dawuan (Cisumdawu) Sections 4 and 5 to be functional by the end of February 2023.

"Friday's target is functional. Section 4 is good, there will be a garden later. If there is a landscape such as rocks on the slopes, just strengthen it so that the geological element can be seen," Basuki said in a statement received in Jakarta, Friday.

Basuki accompanied by the Director General of Highways of the Ministry of PUPR Hedy Rahadian reviewed the process of completing the construction of the Cileunyi-Sumedang-Dawuan (Cisumdawu) Toll Road in West Java, this Friday.

Functional toll roads can become emergency expressways that are temporarily opened to support the smooth flow of vehicle traffic at certain times by looking at the conditions and implementation of construction in the field.

Basuki also continues to encourage the Toll Road Business Entity (BUJT) of PT Citra Karya Jabar Tol (CKJT) to accelerate the completion of the construction of the Cisumdawu Toll Road, especially in Section 4 Cimalaka - Legok (8.2 kilometers/km) and Section 5A and 5B Legok - Ujung Jaya (14.9 km).

In Sections 5A and 5B, Basuki advised to pay attention to neatness and time management.

"Please, the management of the time is arranged to finish it faster. The irregular stones are also tidied up. The finalization must be smooth so that it becomes a good example," added Minister Basuki, as quoted by Antara.

Basuki also advised the implementing contractors to work together to accelerate the completion of development.

"Please also work together so that when one is finished, the other can also be completed soon. So everyone is together happy," explained Minister Basuki.

Bina Marga Director General Hedy Rahadian said Section 1 Cileunyi-Pamulian (11.45 km) had been operating since January 2022. Followed by Section 2 Pamulihan-Sumedang (4.8 km) and Section 3 Sumedang-Cimalaka (4.05 km) which have been operating while at the same time supporting smooth vehicle traffic during Nataru 2022/2023.

"We hope that after the connection of the Cisumdawu Toll Road, it will play an important role as a supporting connectivity for economic growth, improve people's welfare, and open up many new business opportunities in the West Java region, especially connectivity from Bandung to Kertajati," said Hedy.

The Cisumdawu Toll Road consists of 6 sections built under the Government and Business Entity Cooperation (PPP) scheme with a construction cost of IDR 5.5 trillion.
