Local Aquatic Competition Becomes A Development Forum For New Athletes' Bibits
JAKARTA - Local and routine aquatic competitions can be a place to grow the seeds of Indonesian water athletes.
Head of Digital Marketing BTN Vicky Elanda hopes that this event can make the nation proud on the international stage.
"We were given the mandate of SOEs to participate in advancing aquatic sports, including swimming. We hope that we can make the nation proud in the international arena, and routine activities like this are also expected so that there will be new seeds in the swimming sport," Vicky said on the sidelines of the BTN Dash Aquatic Challenge, quoting Antara, Sunday, February 12.
Agreeing, Founder and CEO of Dash Sports Alit Aryaguna assessed, apart from regular competitions, consistency from various supporting parties is also important to provide space for children to improve their talents.
"We are in Dash Sports, because we will focus on aquatic (sports), with very many numbers such as beautiful swimming to water polo, so we also want to be consistent with that, by making regular (competitions)," said Alit.
Furthermore, he said it was also important to reach more children who were interested and talented in aquatic sports. One way, according to Alit, is to try to bring a similar competition outside Jakarta.
On the other hand, Executive Committee National Olympic Committee Arlan Lukman in a written statement assessed that talent development requires local events.
In addition to being able to spur children's enthusiasm to compete, it can also provide more experience to the participants.
"This event can be used as talent scouting in the sense of providing events for athletes to increase the flying hours of competitions, considering that in Indonesia more quality events, sports community events can also further foster positive impacts on sports industry," said Arlan.
