Police Call Bentrok Intergroup In Depok Allegedly Due To Debt Receivables
JAKARTA - The police are still investigating the motives behind the clashes between groups at Perum Raffles Hills Block Q9/9, Sukatani Village, Tapos District, Depok City, West Java.
"The motive is still in the investigation stage because it handles the Regional Police. From issue to issue, we cannot confirm yet," said the Head of the Depok Metro Police, Kombes Ahmad Fuady, to VOI, Sunday, February 12.
He added that as many as a dozen people had been arrested by officers to reveal for sure the motive for the incident.
"Later what will be stated from the examination (file) to find out the motive," he explained.
Ahmad Fuady also did not deny that there was information developing in the field regarding the motive for clashes between groups in Tapos District, Depok, due to debt problems.
"But what is circulating in the community (motives) are receivable debts," he explained.
As previously reported, clashes between groups occurred in Depok City, West Java, last Saturday.
The clash resulted in the death of a man with the initials MSL (42).
The victim, who is a resident of Citeurep, Bogor, died after being hit by a sharp weapon in the chest.
MSL was rushed to the Kramat Jati Police Hospital, but his life could not be saved.
Depok Metro Police Chief Kombes Ahmad Fuady confirmed the incident between two groups.
Meanwhile, the motive is still being investigated further.
"One person died from the Ambon group. Three people were injured from the Ambon group and one person was injured from the Madura group. The motive is still under investigation," said Ahmad Fuady.
He added that cases of inter-group clashes are currently being handled by the Polda Metro Jaya.
"The motive is still in the investigation stage," he said.
