Misbakhun Invites MSME Actors To Use BI QRIS

JAKARTA - Member of Commission XI DPR Mukhamad Misbakhun invites micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to take advantage of the standardization of payments using the Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS) method from Bank Indonesia (BI).

"QRIS will facilitate and guarantee the safety of buying and selling transactions," said Member of Commission XI of the DPR, Mukhamad Misbakhun, quoted from Antara, Sunday, February 12.

He campaigned for the use of QRIS during a working visit in Pasuruan Regency and Pasuruan City, East Java.

Misbakhun explained, BI launched QRIS on August 17, 2019.

According to him, the number of traders or merchants using QRIS continues to grow.

"BI is our partner in Commission XI of the DPR. This QRIS is BI's flagship program, including for MSME actors' fathers and mothers," said Misbakhun.

The member of the House of Representatives' Finance and Banking Commission explained that QRIS users continue to grow. At the end of 2020, QRIS traders had not reached around 6 million.

In November 2021, he continued, there were 12 million QRIS users. A year later, BI data as of November 2022 noted that QRIS users reached more than 22 million traders.

"Of that number, about 90 percent are MSME actors," he said.

In addition, the number of transactions through QRIS is also increasing. Misbakhun also believes that MSME actors, including in Pasuruan, have great potential to continue to grow through the digital economy ecosystem.

The people's representatives from the Electoral Region II of East Java (Pasuruan City, Pasuruan Regency, Probolinggo City, and Probolinggo Regency) also expressed their commitment to continue to help MSME players develop their business.

According to Misbakhun, the program for MSME actors includes business training and access to capital.

Then, he said BI had a Bank Indonesia Social Program (PSBI) which had been targeting MSME actors.

In the first phase, micro and small business actors will receive production equipment assistance through PSBI. If you are able to produce goods properly and are accepted by the market, then it will be easy to get access to financing," he said.

According to him, the government of President Joko Widodo is also intensifying programs for MSMEs. Since 2015, the distribution of people's business loans (KUR) has continued to increase.

According to Misbakhun, the government also provides banking interest subsidies of 6-12 percent, thus MSMEs are even more helped.

"MSME actors who access financing through KUR only pay interest of six percent. This is a form of state presence in building our MSMEs," he said.
