Highest Riau Palm Oil Price In Indonesia

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Association of Indonesian Palm Oil Farmers (Apkasindo) Riau, KH Suher said that based on data released by the Central Leadership Council (DPP), the price of Riau palm oil FFB as of February 6 to 9, 2023 was recorded at IDR 2,630/Kg, the highest in Indonesia.

"The data comes from price-fixing data by 22 oil palm plantation offices throughout Indonesia," Suher said in a statement in Pekanbaru, Saturday.

He said the second highest price was followed by North Sumatra, namely IDR 2,595/kg, West Sumatra IDR 2,556/kg, Jambi IDR 2,518/kg. Meanwhile, the province with the lowest palm oil prices from South Sulawesi province is IDR 1,970/kg.

The price of Riau palm FFB, he said, rose significantly and was the highest in Indonesia thanks to the hard work of all parties.

"The price of Riau palm FFB increased due to several factors, the first is Pergub 77 concerning the Riau Palm Oil TBS trading system which in detail regulates the FFB trading of farmers every week," he said as quoted by Antara.

Second, assistance from the Riau Prosecutor's Office, since four months ago and assistance has been attached to the Riau Disbun price team. The Riau Governor's letter to 308 PKS in Riau so that it complies with the price of Disbun and does not cheat in weighing.

In the near future, the joint team of the Regional Government and APH will carry out supervision in the field directly to PKS and this is very helpful and proposes to brush all PKS PKS naughty, without exception.

Suher explained that these three factors resulted in more transparency and accountability in calculating the price of TBS. Special transparency regarding CPO sales invoices from PKS. Meanwhile, this accountability is related to direct operational costs and indirect operational costs.

According to Suher, the policies of the Governors of Riau and Kajati Riau have attracted the attention of the governors and APH from other palm oil provinces. The governors who produce palm oil want to imitate Riau Province in maintaining the welfare of farmers and price justice.

"We do not ask for a high price but is the correct price for FFB determined by the CPO price. If the price of CPO goes up, then the price of FFB will also go up and vice versa. However, the problem so far is transparency and accountability," said Suher.
