Passengers Flying From Makassar, Garuda Indonesia Free Antigen Rapid Test
JAKARTA - The national airline Garuda Indonesia is working with the South Sulawesi Provincial Health Office to provide free antigen rapid test service facilities for Garuda Indonesia passengers who will fly from Makassar. This policy took effect yesterday.
President Director of Garuda Indonesia Irfaniaputra said, through this cooperation, Garuda Indonesia passengers departing from Makassar can get free rapid antigen inspection services provided by the South Sulawesi Provincial Government to fulfill one of the passenger travel document requirements.
"We hope (this policy) can further increase the trust and interest of the public to always use safe and comfortable air transportation services, especially with Garuda Indonesia," he said, in a written statement received by VOI, Tuesday, January 5.
Irfan explained that this cooperation was not only aimed at increasing public interest and confidence in flying. But more than that, this synergy can encourage efforts to accelerate economic recovery and the tourism sector in Makassar.
The state-owned airline can understand that traveling in this new adaptation period is not only about sharing moments with family but also about safety and comfort together.
Furthermore, Irfan hopes that the provisions for rapid antigen examination can be interpreted as an effort to ensure a sense of security and comfort for people who will travel on air or activities at their destination.

Meanwhile, the Governor of South Sulawesi, Nurdin Abdullah, revealed that the provision of free rapid antigen tests is expected to provide flexibility for the people of Makassar who will carry out flights with Garuda Indonesia to fulfill travel documents during this new habit adaptation period.
Nurdin explained that the provision of rapid antigen services for Garuda Indonesia passengers is a joint commitment of all parties to ensure that the implementation of health protocols is carried out strictly and consistently in line with what has been implemented by Garuda Indonesia in all its operational lines.
"We are optimistic that this collaboration will be a sustainable step to ensure efforts to prevent the spread of the pandemic will run simultaneously, which is also supported by the awareness of all parties, especially the public, regarding the implementation of health protocols," he said.
For your information, in accordance with the policy issued by the South Sulawesi Provincial Government, the free rapid antigen service applies to 50 passengers every day.
Passengers who already have flight tickets can access rapid antigen services starting Monday, January 4, 2021 at the Garuda Indonesia Sales Office (Makassar) Jalan Slamet Riyadi No. 6 every Monday-Friday at 09.00 to 15.00 WITA and Saturdays at 09.00 - 16.00 WITA.
