JAKARTA - The film Kembang Api will be released simultaneously in all Indonesian cinemas on March 2, 2023. This film will be Falcon Pictures' first offering in 2023 after the success of the film Miracle In Cell No. 7.
The film, directed by Herwin Novianto, is played by Donny Damara, Ringgo Agus Rahman, Marsha Timothy and Hanggini.
The film, which carries a mental health theme, tells the story of four people who intend to commit suicide together by blowing themselves up using a large ball filled with fireworks, but strange events occur, every time they explode, they don't die and return to their initial condition.
Herwin Novianto revealed, so that this film can provide many inspirations for his fans. "Surely, I'm very happy to be able to celebrate Indonesian cinemas through this film. You see, the story of this film is different from my previous films. There are many messages conveyed in this film. Especially about Mental Health," he explained when contacted Thursday, February 9.
Playing a desperate person in this film, Ringgo Agus Rahman hopes that this film is not just a spectacle, but also guidance. "I hope this film can be a spectacle where people who watch it later can be aware of the environment and not underestimate a person's mental condition in any form, it's time for us to now eliminate bullying that occurs or actions that can suppress a person's mentality," he said.
Playing a mother figure who is depressed and wants to commit suicide, Marsha Timothy revealed the difficulties experienced during the production of the film Kembang Api. "What is fresh to remember is our training which requires high concentration, either for dialogue or blocking. Like the script, one scene is very long, so our preparation at that time was with Mas Herwin as the director and also assisted by acting coach, such as theater training. We practice per scene that cannot be cut, so we have to run through," he said.
Hanggini, who is in this film, plays a teenager who is a victim of bullying, also hopes that this film can give meaning. "Hopefully people who feel alone or are feeling at their lowest point, hopefully you can bounce back. Because you are not alone. Hopefully, there are many messages that you can take from this film, to be able to rise again," he said.
