Darren Fletcher Promoted, Help Solskjaer In The Main Team Of Manchester United

JAKARTA - Manchester United raised the ranks of its former player, Darren Fletcher. The Scottish man has now entered the ranks of the coaching staff.

United announced on Monday on their official website that Fletcher joined the first team coaching staff led by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Fletcher spent 20 years with the Red Devils as a player after coming through United's Football Academy. He made more than 340 appearances in the first team between 2003 and 2015.

The former Scotland captain has coached the Under-16s since October and is now on the full first-team staff.

As a player, Fletcher won five Premier League titles, one FA Cup, two League Cups, the UEFA Champions League and the FIFA Club World Cup, as well as 80 caps for Scotland.

Commenting on Fletcher's appointment, Solskjaer said: “Darren has United DNA running through his veins and he knows exactly what it takes to become a Manchester United player.

"He is early in his coaching career and his experience both on and off the pitch together with his winning mentality, commitment and hard work will be a great addition to the staff."

Meanwhile Fletcher admits that he cannot hide his happiness at joining Solskjaer in the Red Devils' first team coaching staff.

"I'm delighted to be back at the club as coach of the first team," said Fletcher.

"Being with the youth team has been a very exciting time and I look forward to taking the next step in my coaching career by working alongside Ole and his staff."
