Shenina Cinnamon Trying To Be A Artist In Fantasi Stories
JAKARTA - Shenina Cinnamon became the main character in the film Dear David directed by Lucky Kuswandi. In this film, he plays Laras, a high school student whose scholarship is in danger of being stopped because of his fantasy blog that is spread.
Shenina explained that there were many preparations made to explore the character of Laras. One of them is that he was asked to write fantasy stories by the director.
I was told by sis Lucky to make a fantasy. Sis Lucky invited me to make a fantasy version of Shenina, Shenina Cinnamon's story at Dear David's press conference, Wednesday, February 8.
Before the process started, Shenina was tasked with writing three stories every week. He summarized the fantasy in a book and was not read by anyone.
"A week at least three stories. I wrote that in the book I put at home. It's very unique but it's one that makes me understand Laras' position," explained Shenina.
Not only that, his fantasy story was also read by his co-star, Emir Mahira. Shenina felt embarrassed but she increasingly understood Laras' character in the film Dear David.
"When I was shooting, I was told to write a fantasy about the Emir. Then the Emir was told to go to the kitchen. After writing, I didn't know that the Emir was told to read my writing," recalls Shenina.
"Actually, the writing is okay. When I read it, I felt like 'What is this'," said Emir Mahira.
Shenina explained Dear David is very close to his daily life. Loving yourself is a long process so Shenina wants to be Laras, the main character.
"I have my own journey and I want to spill Shenina to Laras where they need a long process to love themselves. I want to be Laras because I want to have a feel for the audience," said Shenina.
"Moreover, the one who wrote it (Winnie Benjamin) is the same age as me. This is how I feel. That's unique, I've never written fantasy before until I was revealed, so I'm happy," he said again.
The film Dear David airs on Netflix today, Thursday, February 9.
