KPK Will Check Reports That Deputy For Enforcement Karyoto And Director Of Investigation Endar Priantoro Proposed For Promotions

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will check reports stating that there has been a request that the Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the Corruption Eradication Commission Karyoto and the Director of Investigation Endar Priantoro receive a promotion at their original agency, the National Police.

"We'll check it later," said KPK Head of Reporting Section Ali Fikri to reporters, Thursday, February 9.

Quoted from the Tempo newspaper, there is a letter addressed to the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, urging the Police to withdraw Karyoto and Endar Priantoro to the Bhayangkara Corps. Allegedly, this request is related to the investigation into allegations of corruption in the implementation of Formula E in Jakarta.

Returning to Ali, he admitted that he did not know whether the request letter existed or not. It's just that KPK personnel who come from other agencies such as the National Police and the Attorney General's Office have a limited time to work.

Not only that, they can also choose a career in the institution initially. "That's normal. So don't interpret it as something. It's normal to choose an old career," he said.

After all, changes within the KPK are also common. Ali gave an example, the anti-corruption commission has just appointed a number of employees from other agencies.

"So I hope that this problem can be understood as normal. Do not then interpret it as something else," he said.

"(This, red) is part of the career development processes of civil servant employees at the KPK. There are more than 250 people at the KPK," he added.

The polemic about the investigation into alleged corruption in Formula E has been in the spotlight lately. Moreover, in the midst of this issue, the Director of Prosecution, Fitroh Rohcahyanto, returned to his original agency, the Attorney General's Office, with the excuse that he wanted to have a career there.

Regarding Fitroh's return, the KPK emphasized that this had nothing to do with the ongoing investigation process. Fitroh said that the KPK had indeed served as a prosecutor for a long time and wanted to pursue a career in the Adhyaksa Corps.

For information, the KPK is currently investigating allegations of corruption in the implementation of Formula E. Several parties have been summoned, one of which is Anies Baswedan on Wednesday, September 7.

After the summons, it was reported that Anies would be named a suspect. This step is accused of tripping him up in the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres).

Apart from Anies, a number of parties have also been summoned for questioning. One of them, the Chairman of DPRD DKI Jakarta Prasetyo Edy Marsudi, who claimed to have explained about the loan of IDR 180 billion by the DKI Jakarta Dispora to pay a commitment fee to Formula E Operations (FEO).
