Immigration Of South Jakarta Deportation Of 7 Foreigners Whose Stay Is Over

JAKARTA - The South Jakarta Immigration Class I Special Non-Immigration Checkpoint (TPI) deported seven foreign nationals (WNA) who had an overstay residence permit (overstay) in January 2023.

"We deported seven foreigners whose violations were living in Indonesia, exceeding their residence permit," said Head of the Class I Immigration Office Special for Non-TPI South Jakarta, Feluika Sengky Ratna when met in Jakarta, Wednesday, February 8, as reported by Antara.

Sengky detailed that the foreign nationals are from American, Korean, Pakistani, Malaysian and Singaporean countries who have lived in Indonesia for years.

According to Sengky, these violators deliberately lived for a long time in Indonesia and did not renew the validity period of identity. They are known to have no interests such as finding work or work.

He added, if these productive-aged foreign nationals reason to work in their homeland, then they should be aware of their residence permit to their daily income.

"As foreigners, they must know their obligations, namely having to report their residence permits or representatives of their embassies in Jakarta," he said.

Therefore, in order to increase the supervision of foreigners, his party has formed supervisors for foreigners in every sub-district in South Jakarta (South Jakarta) since November 2022.

According to Sengky, representatives from each sub-district in South Jakarta are expected to be able to help evaluate reports and information related to foreigners.

"Until now, we have received a lot of information and it is still a general nature that we are still following up on," he said.

As for reports of surveillance of foreigners in the stage of violation, his party monitors through digital applications of the Foreigner Monitoring System or called "Foreign Serang".

The Class I Immigration Office for Non-TPI South Jakarta hopes that there will be representatives of surveillance of foreigners in each sub-district until digitalization is able to improve their services to the community.
