After South Sulawesi Now Sultan HB X Ensures Vaccination For COVID In DIY January 14, Even Though The BPOM Permit Is Not Clear

YOGYAKARTA - Governor of the Special Region of Yogyakarta Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono X said the COVID-19 vaccination process in Yogyakarta will begin on January 14, 2021, prioritizing health workers.

"We schedule the immunization for January 14," said Sultan Hamengkubuwono X at Gedhong Pracimasana, Kepatihan, Yogyakarta, quoted by Antara, Monday, January 4.

Sultan said that overall DIY will receive a total of 2,605,179 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, which will be divided into four stages.

He estimates that the first phase of the vaccine will arrive in DIY on Tuesday, January 5.

"So we estimate that the vaccine delivery will arrive in DIY, we estimate it will be January 5 tomorrow," he said.

Sultan explained that for the first stage, DIY would receive 26,800 doses, with only 25,340 recipients. "This is specifically for health workers," he said.

Next for the second phase, DIY will receive 555,290 doses intended for the public service sector and the elderly (elderly).

The third stage is devoted to vulnerable groups of 995,353 doses and the last stage is 1,067,912 doses of vaccine for essential economic actors and other communities.

Sultan said the implementation of the four stages of COVID-19 vaccination in DIY requires 1,313 vaccinators or people who are tasked with carrying out vaccinations. To date, only 331 health workers have been trained. "We need readiness starting January 7 for education, training, and so on," said Sultan.
