The DPR Plenary Meeting Agrees To 9 Candidates For Central KPI Members For The 2022-2025 Period
JAKARTA - The 15th Plenary Session of the DPR approved nine members of the Central Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI) for the 2022-2025 period after passing approval of the results of the fit and proper test.
"Can the report of Commission I of the DPR RI on the results of the feasibility test for candidates for members of the Central Indonesian Broadcasting Commission for the 2022-2025 period be approved?" said Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives Sufmi Dasco Ahmad at the Plenary Meeting at the DPR Building, Jakarta, Tuesday, February 7, as reported by Antara.
Dasco's question was answered in agreement by all members and representatives of the factions who attended the DPR Plenary Session.
The nine candidates for the Central KPI for the 2022-2025 period that have been chosen by Commission I, namely Aliyah, Amin Shabana, Evri Rizqi Monarsih, I Made Sunarsa, Mimah Susanti, Mohammad Reza, Muhammad Hasrul Hasan, Tulus Santoso, and Ubaidillah.
Dasco then congratulated the nine candidates for the Central KPI for the 2022-2025 period and invited the nine to stand up to introduce them.
He hopes that they can carry out their duties with full trust and responsibility, especially in the political year ahead of the 2024 General Election.
"We hope to carry out our duties properly and safely. Because this is a political year, of course there are many dynamics that will occur in the press world so that the duties of the Indonesian Broadcasting Commission will certainly be more difficult than in previous years," he said.
In his report, Deputy Chairman of Commission I of the DPR Abdul Kharis Almasyhari said the fit and proper test of candidates for Central KPI members for the 2022-2025 period was on January 18-19.
"The fit and proper test process for candidates for Central KPI members for the 2022-2025 period runs smoothly according to the schedule that has been set and carried out openly," he said.
Furthermore, he said, Commission I of the DPR held a closed internal meeting in order to determine the nine candidates for the Central KPI for the 2022-2025 period based on deliberation for consensus.
Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives, he said, asked for the commitment of nine candidates for the Central KPI for the 2022-2025 period to carry out KPI's duties, functions and authorities in accordance with the laws and regulations in a professional and responsible manner.
"In addition, always maintain morality, integrity, and independence and avoid all forms of irregularities and abuse of authority, and be willing to work full time by prioritizing the completion of KPI's tasks," he said.
Abdul explained that Commission I of the DPR RI also agreed on six candidates for reserve members of the Central KPI for the 2022-2025 period, namely Mulyo Hadi Purnomo, Tantri Relatami, Cecep Suryadi, Ida Fitri Halili, Gustav Aulia, and Bondan Kartiko.
