Attending The Celebration Of The NU Century, Sri Mulyani Photo Akrab With Gus Dur's Wife: NU Good Examples Of Islam

JAKARTA Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani today is known to have participated in the celebration of a century of the birth of a religious-based community organization Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) in Sidoarjo, East Java.

In his statement, the Minister of Finance said that the presence at the same time accompanied the arrival of the Head of State on the same agenda.

"This morning I accompanied President Jokowi to attend the Peak Reception of 1 Century Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) at Gelora Delta Sidoarjo," he said in a written message, Tuesday, February 7.

According to the Minister of Finance, NU's long journey has been deeply rooted in the identity of the community. This can be seen from the interest of residents who intend to take part in the event in person.

"The enthusiasm of the community for attending this event which was held for 24 full hours is truly extraordinary! 100 years is not a short time. So many national figures came from NU and helped lay the foundation of Indonesian civilization," he said.

The state treasurer conveyed that the message brought by President Jokowi in his speech strengthened the important value of Nahdlatul Ulama as an organization relevant to Indonesia's noble ideals.

"Hopefully NU as the largest Islamic organization in the world can continue to provide examples of good Islamic life, uphold morals, maintain tolerance, maintain unity, maintain cooperation and always keep up with the times," he stressed.

The Minister of Finance appears to capture this moment through a photo together with Sinta Nuriyah, the wife of former President Abdurrahman Wahid (Gus Dur), who is an important figure in NU. He also had the opportunity to meet colleagues from the head of ministries/agencies and a number of national figures who attended.
